Trevor and I completed the 8 mile trail around Kensington on Sunday. Twice. It felt pretty good, and that is my favorite place to run, so that was nice. The park has a great running trail; paved, all the way through the woods and around the lake. It is a beautiful run. We also had really good weather. It was not too humid, and there was a slight breeze in the air. We ran by a few other people who were wearing Detroit Marathon t-shirts, so trying to be friendly, I yelled out to one of them “hey- good luck on the marathon, we’ll be there too.” To which I received a response like “Yeah, OK.” So she was not quite as enthusiastic as I was, but I was just trying to show some support for a fellow runner. Maybe she was really inspired and just did not want to show it. I’ll go with that. Almost 30 days away… will it get here already? geezz. I was just reading on the marathon website that we get a free massage after the run. Right. Like I want anyone touching me after I just sweated for 26 miles. No thank you. I’d rather just relax with an ice bath and a beer, thank you.
I’m off to ice my still sore legs.
Tired but still moving,
